We cannot estimate admission chances from a TISSNET result yet, because we do not hold enough data for it. Find Colleges can still match you to colleges using your marks, course and budget.

Total questionsTISSNET has, across recent cycles, been publicly described (via TISS's own admission notifications) as a 100-question, purely objective () test. Candidates should confirm the exact, current-cycle figure directly from TISS's official admission notification at admissions.tiss.edu rather than relying on this note alone.
Total marksAs with the question count above, this figure could not be confirmed TISSNET page, which redirects to a college profile page rather than an exam-detail page. TISSNET has generally been a 100-mark test (one mark per question, no partial marking), per TISS's own admission notifications in recent cycles, but candidates should verify the exact current-cycle total against TISS's official notification at admissions.tiss.edu.
This field could not be confirmed via a dedicated TISSNET exam page (the URL redirects to a college profile page instead); TISSNET has consistently been described in TISS's own admission notifications as having no for incorrect answers; Candidates should still verify this against the official, current-cycle notification at admissions.tiss.edu before the exam
SectionsGeneral Awareness, English Proficiency, Mathematical & Logical Reasoning, Analytical Ability (typical TISSNET pattern)

TISSNET mock tests

We are adding practice tests for TISSNET. Meanwhile, look for an official practice portal on the exam's website.

TISSNET books

Recommended books for TISSNET are being added. Ask Mimi or a counsellor for a suggested reading list.

Talk to a counsellor
  • TISS does not prescribe an official book list for TISSNET
  • Since dedicated TISSNET exam page was not accessible in this update (it redirects to a college profile page), the safest guidance is general: TISSNET tests English proficiency, mathematical and logical reasoning, analytical ability, divergent thinking and general/social awareness, so candidates commonly prepare using standard aptitude and reasoning practice books plus regular current-affairs reading (especially on social-sector, development and public-policy topics, given TISS's social-sciences focus), rather than any single TISS-recommended text

Download process

  • Released online via the TISS admissions portal ahead of the exam using registered login credentials

Result date

  • Released online followed by Pre-Interview Test (PIT) and Personal Interview (PI) rounds for shortlisted candidates

After the result

  • TISSNET score shortlists candidates for the subsequent Pre-Interview Test (PIT)/Group Discussion and Personal Interview (PI) rounds conducted by TISS
  1. 1Content dated the 2024 cycle, the most recent detailed version published
  2. 2Admission to TISS MA/MBA-equivalent programmes has since moved to a CUET PG-linked shortlisting process per more recent updates
  3. 3TISS's (pre-CUET-PG) selection process had two stages: Stage 1 was the TISSNET centre-based objective test (100 marks, 50% weightage)
  4. 4Stage 2 was Online Assessments comprising an extempore reflection on a given topic (100 marks, 20% weightage) and an Online Personal Interview/OPI (100 marks, 30% weightage) assessing motivation, preparedness and subject knowledge
  5. 5A programme-wise is then prepared from the aggregate score and the candidate's stated programme preferences
  6. 6A candidate admitted to their first preference is dropped from other waitlists, while one admitted to a lower preference stays wait-listed for higher preferences until those seats fill
  7. 7Real seat intake examples: TISS Mumbai's MA in Development Studies has 51 seats and MA in Women's Studies 28 seats
  8. 8TISS Tuljapur's four MA/MSc rural-development programmes have 34 seats each
